Spencer takes on Albert Xavier at YOKKAO 40
With 2 back-to-back fight announcements made for YOKKAO 39, the first bout for YOKKAO 40 has just been fixed. Spencer Brown will take on Timor-Leste fighter, Albert Xavier in the co-main event on 25 May.
The coming event marks Spencer’s second appearance in Sydney and he will be looking to mark it with a strong performance. The WBC European champion made a lasting impression in his headlining fight at YOKKAO Next Generation Sydney last May. Despite the decisive loss, Spencer won the hearts of local fans in the 5-round war against elite fighter, Singpayak PTJ Chombueng. In his return to Sydney, we expect Spencer to make a powerful statement in the ring against Albert Xavier.
Fighting out of Melbourne’s Absolute MMA, Xavier is the first Timorese Muay Thai World Champion and continues to represent the country in his fights around the world. He is a former two-time WBC State Lightweight Champion, and holds a record of 20 wins in 31 fight appearances. Nicknamed the “Timorese Assasinâ€, Xavier is deadly fighter with 50% of wins via knockouts. We expect it to be an explosive affair when he meets with Spencer in the ring.
Other headlining bouts on the card that are confirmed so far include Singdam vs Alexi Petroulias and Yodchai vs Quan Trinh. Details on Manachai’s main event fight will be released in the week ahead. Stay tuned for the announcement as it’s set to be a monster matchup.
