Biography

Pakorn began fighting and training at a young age due to the influence of his father, who was a Muay Thai fan. He had his first fight when he was 9 years old, which he won on points, and later that year he joined Sitphateang gym. The gym was located near his home town of Samut Prakan, south of Bangkok by 30km. He moved onto Sakyothin gym in Bangkok and also trained out of Poptheeratham gym in northern Bangkok where the legendary Samart Payakaroon teaches. He stayed at Jitti Gym for approximately one year and then relocated to 13 Coins where he trained regularly with Saenchai PK Saenchaimuaythaigym. He moved to PK and is now based out Evolve MMA in Singapore. He has also trained out of YOKKAO gym in Bangkok.

Fight Career

Pakorn began regularly fighting on the stadium circuit in 2006, mainly fighting at Rajadamnern stadium, the oldest Muay Thai stadium in Thailand. In 2008 he beat Khaimukdam Chuwattana for the 115 lb title for the stadium title.

The following year saw the very technical Pakorn take on the fan pleasing brawler Pornsanae Sitmonchai in a bout that was elected Lumpinee Fight of the Year. He was able to beat the hard hitting Porsnanae twice on points, once at Lumpinee and a second time at Rajadamnern.

He has taken on several notable opponents in his career including Sam-A Kaiyanghadaogym, Nong-O Kaiyanghadaogym, Jomthong Chuwattana, Kongsak Sitboonmee, Wanchalerm Uddonmuang, Sagatdao Petpayathai, Petchboonchu FA Group, and  Singdam Kiatmoo9 amongst others.

In 2013 He was able to beat Kongsak Sitboonmee for the 135lb Thailand Superlightweight title and the following year saw him take the Lumpinee Stadium title in the same weight class off of Singdam Kiatmoo9. That same year saw him gain the prestigious prize of “Best Fighter of the Year” awarded by the Sports Authority of Thailand.

He was able to beat out the Brazilian Jos Mendonca in 2014 for the WMC Lightweight belt. Mendonca is one of the few foreigners to have held a belt at Rajadamnern.

Pakorn was able to take the YOKKAO title at 65ks in 2014 when he beat out English fighter Greg Wooton by a points decision after five rounds of action. He was able to defend the title in 2015 against Liam Harrison on YOKKAO 13. He took home the decision win in Harrison’s home country of England. In 2016 he took on Idrachai Chor Haphayak to win ThairathTV’s Champion belt at 147 lbs.

He most recently took a loss to Chadd Collins on MX Extreme. The bout took place under full Thai rules on the new promotion but boxers wear small MMA style gloves. Collins hails from Australia and was able to swarm on Pakorn wearing him down with a high work rate.

Pakorn is known for his stylish fighting and is a slick boxer in the ring. He recently toured the world giving seminars with pound for pound best Muay Thai fighter Saenchai PKSaenchaimuaythaigym.
