YOKKAO 52: The Atmosphere Returns as YOKKAO Makes its UK Comeback

YOKKAO 52 in partnership with Hitman Fight League, marked the long-awaited return of YOKKAO to the UK, bringing back the unmistakable atmosphere that had been missing since its last British event in August 2021. At Manchester’s BEC Arena, fighters, gyms and fans came together for a night that captured the energy and community spirit of YOKKAO events.

The roar of the crowd, the anticipation before each bout and the action inside the ring brought that connection back to life. For longtime supporters, it was a welcome return. For a new generation of fans, it was their first taste of the YOKKAO experience.

Liam Harrison set the tone in his opening speech, promising fireworks and highlighting Anthony Deary’s determination in front of an arena packed with his supporters. His message to Sangmanee was clear: Deary was ready to leave everything in the ring.

Explosive Finishes Open the Action

Brooks Sowerby made an immediate statement against Jack Moran, applying aggressive pressure to secure a first-round stoppage in small gloves. Afterwards, Sowerby promised that this was only the beginning.

Harry Purvis followed with another explosive performance against Dylan Meagher. Purvis landed powerful body shots, maintaining the pressure until Meagher could no longer withstand the attacks.

Lewis George also delivered a dominant opening round against Liam Derbyshire. Targeting the body with heavy shots, George scored three knockdowns to secure the stoppage.

Jake Newman Takes the Co-Main Event

Jake Newman and Saenpon Sor Sormmai produced an absorbing Muay Thai contest. Saenpon looked to impose his close-range game through clinch work, elbows and knees, but Newman executed an effective tactical response.

Preventing Saenpon from settling into his preferred style, Newman controlled the exchanges and earned the victory.

Fight of the Night Goes to Anthony Deary

Anthony Deary delivered the performance of his life against Sangmanee Sor Tienpo, earning Fight of the Night honours.

Deary attacked from the opening bell with hard combinations and relentless forward pressure. Sangmanee responded with powerful left kicks to the body, but Deary refused to retreat. He answered with combinations and a barrage of elbows, forcing Sangmanee to use the clinch to contain the attacks.

The breakthrough came in round three. Deary landed a perfectly timed elbow that sent Sangmanee to the canvas, bringing the fight to a spectacular conclusion and sending the home crowd into a frenzy.

The victory crowned Deary the YOKKAO Super Lightweight World Champion, providing an unforgettable finish to YOKKAO’s UK comeback.
